Many people have confused various symptoms such as fatigue, muscle pain, food allergies and food sensitivity as just a normal part of life.

In recent years, the emergence of Candida Albicans, a tiny yeast organism in our bodies which becomes a factor when there is a serious imbalance of good bacteria within our systems, has become a household term as more and more people realize they are battling it.

In many cases, people have felt as if they were going to die or just simply lost enthusiasm to do anything and until it was discovered candida was a possible issue, continued to live with it.

Yeast overgrowth should not just be associated with women. Men are also affected by it with some of the symptoms including:

- skin rashes and nail fungus
- vaginal infection
- jock itch
- inflammation of the prostate gland
- thrush
- a definite lack of libido

Avoiding Yeast Overgrowth

One of the best ways to keep Candida at bay is by reassessing your diet and cutting out certain foods and drinks. Obviously, you should talk to your doctor about this before starting a new regime however, there are some things you can get started on right away.

Using supplements is another great way to help boost your body's fight against Candida. Supplements which aid in maintaining healthy levels of good bacteria, particularly in your digestive tract is vitally important.

A multi-vitamin supplement will also aid in boosting your immune system. When Candida is at play, it will often mean your immune system is struggling and needs a boost. Vitamin supplements will aid in building up your immune system's defenses.

Foods To Avoid

Cutting out sugar from your diet is imperitive. Replacing it with natural sweeteners like Stevia is a good step in breaking down the effect of Candida. Avoid processed foods with high sugar content. The average person is said to consume upwards of 100 pounds of sugar a year which is frightening and a lot of it is from unhealthy processed food.

Other items you should consider eliminating include white flour-based foods and dairy products, soft drinks and flavor colored drinks. Replacing your liquid intake with water and herbal tea will be a good step in the right direction.
